Supporting Paul Hartmann’s Successful SAP S/4HANA Go-Live

ree

Bluerobe is proud to have supported Paul Hartmann Group in the successful Go-Live of their SAP S/4HANA transformation — a major milestone in Hartmann’s SHAPE program. This achievement marks the culmination of an extensive preparation phase involving close collaboration between Hartmann, MHP as implementation partner, and Bluerobe’s experienced Cutover Management team.

Seamless Transition to S/4HANA

Between March 31 and May 5, 2025, Bluerobe participated in the execution of Hartmann’s end-to-end SAP Cutover process — covering critical areas such as data migration, BI integrations, system downtimes, and ramp-up activities. The project was managed through ServiceNow, ensuring real-time visibility, tracking, and control over all cutover tasks and dependencies.

All checkpoints were successfully completed, resulting in successful Go-Live on S/4HANA and activation of the Hypercare phase. The transition was completed within the planned window and with exceptional team performance across business and IT streams.

A Structured Approach: 7 Test Cycles, 3 Full Dress Rehearsals

Preparation was a critical success factor. Across seven structured test cycles, including three full dress rehearsals, the teams validated and refined every step of the cutover plan — from data migration and integration testing to communication flows and issue handling.

This thorough preparation allowed the final Go-Live to run with confidence and predictability.

Walk the Wall – Collaboration at Scale

A key success factor was the “Walk the Wall” approach — an interactive planning and alignment exercise that allowed all workstreams to visualize, adjust, and synchronize cutover tasks on a single shared wall. This method fostered transparency, identified dependencies early, and ensured that every stream understood its role in the overall plan.

The sessions proved instrumental in refining timelines, mitigating risks, and maintaining momentum throughout the execution phase.

Cutover Excellence and Lessons Learned

The Go-Live debrief highlighted:

  • Strong coordination via Mission Control

  • Effective data migration and validation ahead of schedule

  • Real-time communication and incident handling through ad-hoc taskforces

  • Transparent tracking using ServiceNow dashboards

Team feedback underscored the value of cross-functional collaboration, on-site presence, and disciplined execution — with participants praising the “good plan, great execution” that delivered results above and beyond expectations.
